It's baseball season (and then some), so if you're keeping score at home, here's a summary of our recent website updates.

  • The Model 3101 Type C Connection Exerciser has gone from announced to beta to production status. devtools/exerciser-type-c.html.
  • MCCI now has a support portal for handling our development tools and and entry-level USB software. Customers with support contracts will still use our existing mechanisms, but there's a more structured alternative for customers without a support contract. For information, see support/support.html; or go directly to the MCCI support portal, hosted on Zoho.
  • Of course, numerous minor updates all through the site.

Feedback is always welcome. (And now, if you send email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. , we'll open a ticket and track it!)

One major update today, and some minor ones.

The major update: our USB OTG product now supports Type C dual role, and so we're renamed it TrueTask Dual-Role USB. We've supported Microchip FlexConnect hubs for a while, but somehow it never made it to the website; so that was added too. Find out more on the TrueTask Dual Role USB stack page.

With that, we made the usual small changes here and there.

It's September in NY, and at least upstate in Ithaca, you can really understand why they say that meteorological autumn begins September 1. So... time for another website update!

Today's changes are all related to adding a new page:  http://www.mcci.com/mcci-v5/hostside/usb_wifi.html, which describes MCCI's support for USB Wi-Fi adapters from Mediatek/Ralink.

As always, please let us know what you think!

What better to do on a Saturday afternoon in early spring than watch the deer cavorting in the field across the road as the snow melts [1], and update the website?

Two pages were changed, but substantial changes on each:

 Your comments are welcome!

[1] I'm serious -- three does, apparently mother and yearling fawns, were bucking and hopping and chasing each other around.

After a pause for MWC in Barcelona and Embedded World in Nuremberg, the gradual process of updating the website resumes.

Three pages were updated.

  • The Contacts page was updated to use 9-digit ZIP codes for our US locations.
  • The Catena 1910 page was updated to note GPIO and custom sideband capability.
  • The USB Networking Page (which for some reason is bound to the "CDC Ethernet" entry in the jump menu, but covers much more than that) was updated to reflect our current offerings, and to make it W3C compliant. It still needs more work, but for that I need to find the source to the graphics.

As always, comments or suggestions are welcome!

For those of us who are keeping score at home, or who just love reading ChangeLog entries....

Three pages were updated recently (since 2014-01-25).

  • The Products: Firmware page was missing some important information, and was discussing products that we no longer offer.
  • The MCCI USB DataPump page was very much out of date. Added a discussion of the IP and devices that we currently support, along with SOCs. Lots of minor edits.
  • The MCCI USB DataPump for Android (and Linux) page was rewritten in an attempt to clarify the technical features of the product, and to highlight current product capabilities.

Think I missed something? Leave a comment and let me know!

The Connection Exerciser page was updated.

  • The Connection Exerciser supports low speed, full speed, high speed, and SuperSpeed devices -- but the patch cables we ship are specifically for a SuperSpeed device with a USB 3.0 STD B connector. If your device has an older USB 2.0 STD B connector, or a mini or micro B connector, you'll need to supply your own patch cable. Usually this is no problem, as you can just plug the device into the Connection Exerciser using the device's normal cable, and then use one of the supplied patch cables to connect to the host.
  • We improved the overview and quote form; we hope this makes it easier to place orders.

It doesn't hurt to mention again that there's new software for the Connection Exerciser available for download.  V1.18 fixes a number of minor issues on Windows, and adds scripting support on MacOS X and Linux hosts.

Sometimes the more things change, the more... etc. Still, I thought it would be polite to alert people to changes.
